The Crazy Adventures of Wes and Adam in the Middle East - Episode 1 Hello Everybody,
> I thought I would write when I could, me and Adam are going to
take turns reporting to you all what we've been up to. It's easy
to e-mail in New York so we're sending one now, I'm sure it will
be harder when we get to the middle East. I'm going to try and
write about New York in summary format since, it wasn't a story
that occurred here, just a series of random events. Stayed up to
3 a.m. last night which is only 12 your time. What a great time
so far in New York, we saw the empire state building, met a German
there,(Adam thought he was Australian, ohh the shame) Nicholas was
his name, we have to contact him when we get to Germany. $12 to
get to the top. 1hour of waiting in line going up, 1/2 hour of
line getting down, stayed on top about 10 minutes, good times,
great view.
>We met up with Dave a friend from Colorodo at ground zero, quit an awe inspiring site, the memorial at St. Paul's cathedral was touching. Sigfried couldn't handle it though, to sad. Sigfried will be referred to a lot, he is my German bobblehead on a journey with us, trying to get home. Then we ltterally ran to David Letterman. Dave (not Letterman) took us to New Jersey for a little jaunt back and forth in the Franklin tunnel (wrong turn) we were real late so we ran, like...the ....WIND. >Chauncey Billups (Detroit MVP), Dana Carvey & Wilcow were the guests, it was a great show. Then we saw the Producers, got in trouble filming the dancing gay Hitler song, Also got in trouble doing the same in Letterman, you'd think I would learn. The Producers was the funniest show I have ever seen once you get past some of the risky parts. I don't recommend it to anyone, but it was worth it. Oh, did I mention how humidid is here, I feel like a fly trap I'm so sticky. Hotel Carter is our Hotel, extremely ghetto but it is starting to grow on me. We saw China town (stinks) and little Italy (when they say little they meant it) we only found one street. Wall street was impressive. A New York cop from Queens said we couldn't go into the see the stock exchange. They wouldn't even let Sigfried in. The very place where George Washington gave his first inaugural address was next door. I didn't know there was so much history here. >Went to the Staton Island Ferry (It was free, Hee Hee, something free in New York is a cause for great excitement) We saw one of the greatest icons in the world from the ferry, the statue of liberty and also saw the Brooklyn bridge. Ate a nice dinner in Greenwich village,(pronounced Grenich) It happened to be on a gay road littered with happy rainbows. This was not on purpose it just happened, O.K. We were served by Johnny Depp and a New Zealander who gave us a lesson on how to spot the difference between an Austrialian and a New Zealander. Zealander's don't GOODAY. > Finally we saw Phantom of the Opera, One of the greatest voices I have ever heard played the Phantom, Hugh Panaro, twas remarkable. Oh yes.. I forgot yesterday morning we buried treasure for Biz Klauer, Lindsey and Shannon Yonker and friend, in Central Park (almost slept there). We set up an awesome treasure hunt made up of riddles and clues. There coming here in two months to find it. >We ended the night with me, Adam and Dave praying for eachother, Dave is headed to Scotland. We prayed for the spirit of God to rule among us for the rest of our trip. We are going into some of the most ungodly environment's in the world even though this is where our God lived, kind of ironic. We need fellowship along the way and that is the single prayer I ask from all of you. We wish you all well, we will remember you each in our prayers. From a land far far away. Episode one complete. Wes and Adam out. |
